Welcome! November 2 and 3 - Meet and Greet - Pius XII and MacLeod PS
NOTE Thursday Change to MacLeod
Hello Parents, thank you for your patience. We have had a delay due to gym schedules and late registrations. I currently have everything up to date and will be email coaches their teams in the next couple of days. You will receive either an email or a phone call from your coach. Your coach will have your practice schedule and game schedule.
Please keep in mind that we are very fortunate to receive support for our program from our local school boards and that gym requests are very high each year. We have to schedule practices and games based on gym availability and our coaches. We try and fill as many requests as we can also keeping in mind that many families have more than one child playing in the league.
Now for the start up. We were going to get started with practices and games next week, but with Halloween on Monday October 30th, we will delay the start up for practices and games.
On Wednesday November 2nd at 6:30 pm we will have a meet and greet for the Novice division only (grades 3 and 4) at PIUS XII School, 44 Third Avenue in New Sudbury.
On Thursday November 3rd at 6:00 pm we will have a meet and greet for the Atom division (grade 5 and 6)
and at 7:00 pm for the Bantam division (grade 7 and 8) at MacLeod PS on Walford Road.
Players will meet their coaches and receive their uniform. The only additional equipment your child requires is a good pair of running shoes and a water bottle.
All meet and greets will be approximately 1 hour. If your child is unable to attend the meet and greet night, please notify your coaches and they will pick up a uniform for your child.
Anyone who has not paid for registration please bring your payment to the meet and great nights.
Please refrain from emailing me back regarding schedules . You will be contacted by your coach as mentioned above.
The Sudbury Youth Basketball League’s mission is the promotion of skill development, fun and fair play in the sport of basketball.
Sudbury Youth Basketball League is dedicated to providing recreational opportunities for children from the age 8 to 13 in the game of basketball. Players will have the opportunity to receive coaching in the various skills required in the game with the chance to play a regularly scheduled series of games to apply these skills without the intensity of championship play. Full participation and fun are guides for these programs. This is an non-competitive environment.
We are presently seeking volunteers for coaching, supervising and other duties. There are opportunities to become certified officials of the game as well. Use the contacts listed below
Elite programmes will be offered in the Spring for both Girls and Boys under the convenership of experienced high school coaches. Coaches and assistants will be welcomed for those programmes.
